Jood Shiqem : Taking GIN to the Next Level
Imagine GIN with a 5000 dhs award for the best action plan -- this is SILA. SILA aims to to establish and encourage collaboration between local university students and professionals in developing sustainable and viable solutions to current issues in their local communities. The SILA twist is that all proposals will be presented to a panel of judges, who ultimately decide which one will win the prize. Learn more about SILA here. Sheena Khan Sheena Khan is a sustainability practitioner based in Dubai. As part of The Change Initiative's founding management ream, Sheena conceptualised and launched the company's sustianability education program, which reached over 3000 participants in under 2 years. Her passion for designing and facilitating sustainability modules enables her to connect with diverse audiences across a broad array of topics ranging from green building design to food waste management. Sheena additionally runs the sustainability component of the Growing Leaders Foundation. She is currently on sabbatical becoming an expert in Sustainable Tourism. Mohamed Belarbi Serial Entrepreneur, Blogger, Cosmopolite and Public Speaker, Mohamed Amine Belarbi is a student at NYU AD with grand social and professional endeavors. At the age of 17, Mohamed started his first regional NGO, the Arab Institute for youth Policy Making, with 6 branches in the MENA region, then a year later he started his Foundation for social and entrepreneurial support for Moroccan students, Al Amine Foundation. At the age of 19 he co-founded a Marketing and Design startup, Studinov Marketing Strategies, with clients in the construction, fashion, personal branding and technology sectors. With a strong editorial background, Mohamed has been a writer for Independent Skies Magazine, the Foreign Report, the International Political Forum, International Affairs on the edge, CBP Magazine, Elite Daily, Careerealism and Gulf Elite Magazine among others. His ventures are recognized by organizations such as the UNHCR, Siemens Corp, Khalifa Fund and Clinton Global Initiative University Network. Dr. Bahareh Amidi A certified poetry therapist who believes healing happens through words and voice. She holds a Masters Degree in Family, Marriage and Child Counseling Psychology from College of Notre Dame and a PhD from Catholic University in Educational Psychology. She completed her hands-on training in poetry therapy at the California based Institute for Poetic Medicine. |
